Last Updated: May 31, 2025

It’s important to know how many SIM cards are registered against your CNIC in Pakistan. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it simple for users to verify active SIMs using official tools. In this updated 2025 guide, we’ll explain how to check the number of SIMs on your CNIC via SMS and the PTA online portal.

Why Should You Check SIMs Registered on Your CNIC?

Keeping track of SIMs registered against your CNIC ensures your identity isn’t misused for illegal or unauthorized activities. It also helps prevent telecom fraud and protects your digital security.

PTA Guidelines for SIM Registration

  • A maximum of 5 SIMs can be registered per CNIC across all networks.
  • Each SIM is registered with biometric verification.
  • PTA allows users to track their SIM status through multiple channels.

Method 1: Check Number of SIMs via SMS

  1. Open your messaging app.
  2. Type your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes).
  3. Send it to 668.
  4. You will receive a reply with the number of SIMs registered under each mobile operator.

Note: A nominal SMS charge may apply.

Method 2: Check SIMs on CNIC Online via PTA Portal

  1. Go to the official PTA SIM Information System: https://cnic.sims.pk
  2. Enter your 13-digit CNIC number.
  3. Complete the captcha verification.
  4. Click on “Submit”.
  5. You will see a detailed list of all active SIMs by network.

How to Block Unauthorized SIMs

If you find a SIM registered to your CNIC that you’re not using, immediately contact the respective mobile operator’s helpline or visit their customer service center with your CNIC for biometric verification and blocking.

Operator Helpline Numbers

  • Jazz: 111
  • Telenor: 345
  • Zong: 310
  • Ufone: 333

Tips to Keep Your SIMs Secure

  • Never share your CNIC number with untrusted individuals.
  • Do not allow others to register SIMs under your name.
  • Check your SIM registration status every few months.
  • Immediately report lost or stolen SIMs to your operator.
