The Punjab government is set to launch Agriculture Graduates Internship Program an exciting initiative for recent agriculture graduates through the Internship Scheme for Agriculture Graduates. With a substantial budget of Rs. 755 million, this program is designed to offer practical training and professional development to young graduates who have recently completed their studies in agriculture.

The Agriculture Graduates Internship Program objective is to enhance graduates communication skills, leadership abilities, and technical knowledge, thus helping them become more effective in the field and contribute positively to the agriculture sector.

Program Details

The Agriculture Graduates Internship Program for Agriculture Graduates is scheduled to run for one year during the 2024-25 period. A total of 1000 paid internships will be available through this program. These internships aim to deepen the interns’ understanding of agricultural practices, improve their communication with farmers, and enhance the overall delivery of agricultural services.

This initiative not only provides practical experience but also fosters a positive attitude toward their responsibilities, preparing graduates to better serve the agriculture sector.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this Agriculture Graduates Internship Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: BSc (Hons) in Agriculture
  • Age Range: 18 to 25 years
  • Residency: Must be a resident of the same tehsil where applying, with a preference for local candidates.
  • Additional Requirements: Must possess a smartphone and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a good grasp of farming practices.

What Is Application Process For Agriculture Graduates Internship Program

Applications will be accepted through advertisements in leading newspapers, the Department of Agriculture official website, and various social media platforms. Interested candidates should submit their applications along with the required documents to the Deputy Director Agriculture (DDA) at the district level. The recruitment process will be overseen by a district-level committee led by the Deputy Commissioner.

Objectives Of Agriculture Graduates Internship

The primary aim of the internship program is to provide fresh graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the agriculture industry. The program focuses on:

  • Leadership & Coordination: Developing leadership skills and improving collaboration between institutions.

Benefits of the Internship

Interns will gain practical experience in the field, working directly with farmers to improve farming techniques. They will also contribute to real-time monitoring through the Urban Unit, ensuring effective implementation of the government’s agricultural initiatives.

Interns will receive a stipend, with Rs. 720 million allocated for intern stipends as part of the overall budget.
