However, it is important to note that the token tax renewal process may vary from province to province. Let’s explore the step-by-step process.

What is the token tax rate in Punjab?

Under the new regulations, the annual token tax for vehicles will no longer depend on the engine capacity (cc). Instead, it will be based on the invoice value of the vehicle. This shift in the taxation approach aims to provide a more equitable system for all vehicle owners.

For vehicles ranging from 1000cc to 2000cc, an annual tax of 0.2% of the invoice value will now be imposed. Therefore, car owners in this category should be prepared to calculate their token tax accordingly.

On the other hand, for vehicles exceeding 2000cc, the annual token tax will be set at 0.3% of the invoice value. This means that owners of larger-engine vehicles will face a higher tax rate. Consequently, understanding the new tax regulations is crucial for all vehicle owners to ensure compliance and avoid any penalties.
